A Little Bit of Something for Everyone
Established in November 1939, Wells Gray Provincial Park is British Columbia’s fourth largest park and offers a little bit of something for everyone. With roughly 5,250 square kilometres of preserved park, Wells Gray Provincial Park protects some of the tallest and highest parts of the Cariboo region. Since the opening of the park, adventure has been relevant and continues to be relevant today. With mountaineering objectives, whitewater to tame, snowshoeing trails, and some of B.C.’s best backcountry skiing, Wells Gray hosts an abundance of adventure opportunities for adventurers of all levels.
Stories that Need to be Told
Millions of visitors visit the park every year. These visitors leave with stories and memories that they share with family and friends as well as social media. If there was a way to share these stories on a larger scale, more people could learn about what the park has to offer and the adventure opportunities available to everyone, regardless of what scale of adventure these opportunities land on.
The Goal
In the coming weeks, I plan to explore stories from the past by adventurers that need to be told. Capturing photos of the stunning park to go along with stories and the places that opportunities lie. Sitting down and learning about adventures face to face and producing them into a podcast will help share outdoor enthusiasts love of this park and the memories they have made. Finally a video about the park and the adventures that are to be had will round off this project to showcase adventure in Wells Gray Provincial Park.
